You may call it detox dieting, or body cleansing, or fasting, but the fact remains that starving in any shape or form is dangerous for your health. Fasting for a short period of time maybe good for cleansing your body but prolonged fasting can have damaging effects on your body, such as dehydration, nausea, fatigue, low blood sugar level, etc!
Weight Loss Friendly Foods
There are a lot of weight-loss friendly foods to stick to if you want to lose weight.
Vegetables: Most non-starchy vegetables are low in calories and high in fiber, making them excellent choices for weight loss. Examples include spinach, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, cucumbers, and zucchini.
Whole Foods;Base your diet around whole, unprocessed foods that are rich in nutrients and low in added sugars, sodium and unhealthy fats.
Whole Eggs; Once feared because they were high in cholesterol it is now known that eggs do not adversely effect your blood cholesterol, so they are now known as one of the best health food.
Eggs are high in protein, healthy fats and they can make you feel full after eating them with a low amount of calories.
You should eat eggs for breakfast as part of your weight loss diet.
Lettuce; you should eat leafy greens which will also include cabbage, kale and other. They are low in calories and carbohydrate, but are high in fibre so they are perfect for weight loss.
Leafy greens also come packed with vitamins and minerals.
Oily Fish such as salmon are great for weight loss and are incredibly healthy. They are also a very satisfying food to eat. They have a lot of protein and Omega-3 which is good for your brain and for your vision. You should also try Mackerel, trout, sardines and herring.
Chicken Breast & Lean Beef are high in protein and are great weight loss-friendly foods. Eating foods that are high in protein will help you burn a lot of calories, they will also help cut down the cravings you will have for high calories foods.
Some Whole Grains have a lot of fibre and many come with a lot of protein. Your diet should include oats and brown rice.
Cruciferous Vegetables include Brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli. These vegetables come high in fibre and will easily help you feel full after eating. They are not as high in protein as some other food, but do contain some. They are highly nutritious and it is believed that they can fight cancer
Tuna is a high protein and low-calorie food. Tuna has very little fat in it and is very popular with fitness buffs and bodybuilders because of this.
Lean Proteins include such things are skinless pountry, lean cuts of beef or pork, fish and sseafood and beans.
Legumes: Legumes, such as beans, lentils, chickpeas, and peas, are high in fiber and protein, making them filling and nutritious additions to meals. They can be used in soups, salads, stir-fries, and vegetarian dishes.
Low-Fat Dairy: Low-fat dairy products like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and skim milk provide protein and calcium with fewer calories and less fat than their full-fat counterparts. They can be incorporated into smoothies, breakfast bowls, or snacks.
You should eat regular meals. Aim for three balanced meals per day with the option of healthy snacks in between to maintain a steady energy level and to prevent overeating.
Pay attention to your body’s hunger and fullness cues. You should eat slowly, not too fast and stop when you’re comfortably satisfied.
You can be flexible; allow yourself occasional treats in moderation to avoid the feeling of deprivation.
